Some pics from recent adventures

It's been a busy month. Here are a few pictures from what we've been getting up to:

At the very old, very cool tree in Dinosaur Provincial Park. Don't know how we missed this park up until now!

Mike and I in Dinosaur Provincial Park. Great view!

A tulip in our yard. Mike's becoming quite the photographer!

Mike on our canoeing trip.

Me on the same canoeing trip. I still can't believe how fast the river was flow. No paddling for us!

A neat looking old bridge we passed on the canoeing trip. It was so loud whenever a car went over, but there was a cache nearby so we stopped anyways.

Our ultimate team (Gangrene) with the team we played against in the finals at Slo-Down. We won and got possibly the ugliest trophy in existence as a prize (well, there were some other prizes too, but "the boot" was the funniest).

Sweet!

So far it's been a pretty good start to the week! My birthday was on the weekend, and I got a KitchenAid (bright red!), a very cool necklace, a sweet green purse, and a barbeque cookbook. Then came the best present of all... Mike got a call on Tuesday to go in for an interview at Dr. Egbert, a junior high school in Marlborough Park, and we found out today that he got the job! Starting September, he'll be teaching grade 7 science and math, and grade 8 math, and hopefully coaching a team or two. Now he can relax and not worry about that, and really enjoy his next two months off (not jealous at all really ;) he has to start getting used to his summers off after all!).

Ultimate season is upon us!

Well, it's been a bit of a busy week. Pilates on Monday, ulti Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, then an ulti tournament this weekend. It'll be interesting to see how good the legs feel tomorrow. We managed to win the C pool at the tournament, which was pretty cool (for once, Andrew was right with his predictions of us winning ;) ). Unfortunately, we also managed to get a spirit warning (as far as we know it was for being "too intense", interesting complaint for a game where everyone is trying their hardest, but oh well, next year we move up to the B level, where we'll likely get killed, but no one will complain about our intensity).

Next week should be good. Last pilates class tomorrow, then I'll move up to the beginner-intermediate class for the next session. I did an intermediate class a couple weeks ago, and boy was it tough. I'm looking forward to being able to do all the stuff the people in that class could do someday... Then we have ulti Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday again. Hopefully we don't get another crazy storm like the one last Wednesday (probably half a foot of dime-nickel sized hail and an insane amount of water coming down in 20 minutes, my mini almost wasn't able to drive over all the hail on the ground, and it sure splashes really well!). A couple barbeque dinners next weekend should close out the week, and end it more quietly than it started...
